With freshwater becoming a scarce and precious resource for all developing economies, coupled with existing inadequate waste water treatment facilities in the country, the initiative sets an innovative and eco-friendly way of treating and recycling domestic sewage in peri-urban areas of the country where land may be available but other resources such as electricity, skilled human resource and other inputs are generally not available.
